Approximately what shutter speed did you use to freeze action? The shutter speed i used was 1/600 to freeze the action of water droplets hitting the water. What ISO and WB settings did you use? The iso i used was 800 while the wb settings was on auto. What action did you freeze? (Describe). I froze the action of the water droplets hitting the tank of water. What was your distance, and point of view for the photo? The point of view i used was from straight on the tank while my distance was close up to the tank. Describe any compositional elements (tools) that are present in or that strenghthen the photo.(rule of thirds, positive and negative space, line, shape, pattern, texture, strong colors, contrast...) A strong compositional element in the photo is the pattern created from each water droplet before it hit the tank of water. Approximately what shutter speed did you use to purposely blur action? I used the shutter speed of 1/25 to blur the action of the pinwheel moving. What ISO and WB settings did you use? The iso is used on the pinwheel was 800 while my wb setting was set on auto. What motion, or part of the image shows blur? The part of the image that shows blur is the pins of the pinwheel. (Describe). What was your distance, and point of view for the photo? The point of view of the pinwheel was from a low angle while i was close up to the pinwheel. Describe any compositional elements (tools) that are present in or that strenghthen the photo.(rule of thirds, positive and negative space, line, shape, pattern, texture, strong colors, contrast...) The compositional element that are present in the photo is of the shape and pattern of the pinwheel while it was froze.
Painting with light
Describe one of your photos from painting with light. The image of the lights moving up and down creates what looks like a earthquake or someone playing music with bass. What shutter speed did you have the camera on? I used a 4 second shutter speed to capture the lights spinning in a circler motion. What light source did you use to create the painting? We used Christmas lights to capture the painting of a piece of candy. How did you achieve the image/effect? By spinning the Christmas lights the opposite way each end we were able to create the effect of a piece of candy in its wrapper. What impact does the photo have? How would the viewer feel looking at your photo? The image of the blue lights could make the viewer feel like they're looking at Christmas lights on a house.
aperture
F-stops Image 1 - 5.6 Image 2 - 8 Image 3 - 14
What f-stop did you have your camera set to create a shallow depth of field? To create a shallow depth of field on the photo of the chair i used the f stop of 5.6. What ISO and WB settings did you use? The iso of the chair photo was 420 while the wb was set on auto. What f-stop did you have your camera set to create a large depth of field? To create the large depth of field of the stairs i used the f stop of 14. What ISO and WB settings did you use? The iso i used on the stairs was 360 while the wb was set on auto. Why would you want to use a shallow depth of field? You would want a shallow depth of field to focus more on your subject of your photo. When/in what situation would a large depth of field be better? large depth of field would be used to capture a overall view of a place or thing instead of just one specific object.
